Killing for greed is nothing new. Expecially in a place like Chicago, the murder capital of America. Although in this day and age people may not conveniently find gold underneath a tree, it doesn't mean greed doesn't exsist. Greed takes place in a more indirect way, but the results are just as deadly. If you think about it, almost any kind of murder derives from greed. People have a constant to desire for more then what they already have. Those who take more than what they need are greedy.
I agree with you that the killing as a result of greed is a reoccurring theme in stories, and in real life. Do you think that everyone, if they found a bag of gold or something else extremely valuable, would instantly become really greedy and go to extreme measures (murder) to take/keep it?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because greed is a concept that's always going to be there. Sometimes a person wants what they can't have, and by any means necessary do what they can to achieve it! You see that the three friends didn't think twice about killing each other for gold. Greed is definitely one of the three deadliest sins!
